The Origin of Language

The origin of language is the ability that a human has to acquire a language.
Some years ago many people used to communicate through gestures or words
and animals through sounds. The acquisition of a language is based on the best
method you think is easy for you to acquire it. I am going to mention two
methods that we could use to know our way to learn. The first one is the basic
thinking of non- linguistic, it uses conscious visual impressions; in this method
the person creates signs and concepts related with his/her relationships to external
reality, it has semantic meaning and it is a private language too. A private
language has some limitations, it can not be communicated to other people, it can
not establish a way of communicating, the private language has to give way to a
social, public language. Then the grammatical language that is invented as a
secondary method of thinking, this language method was originated, as a means
for public communication. The conscious flow of visual imagery is now made
subconscious as verbal activity comes to dominate the mind.
The origin of language could be a dialogue between emotion and desire. Language
is a filter mechanism ; by centring himself on it, the person can learn to disregard
much of the sensory input that his nervous system receives from internal and
external sources. Consider hallucinatory agents, according with our behavior we
become responsive to a much greater range of sensations than we normally do;
some of these sensations have an external source, but there is also a
predominantly emotional or mood response, with little will power in evidence.

Negative and Positive aspects about technology in our Society.

In many Costa Rican institutions teachers use to have many problems with resources and materials they need to work with students of different levels such as physical materials but principally technology tools. Teachers have the possibility that if they do not have some material in thier institutions, they create their own by themselves according with the students needs but the problem is that nowadays in our society technology is an essential and neccesary resource that in an education field, it could help teachers and students to have a better environment. Everybody know that technology has many and different facilities, through a computer people do wathever they want thanks to the changes it has been until now. In English classrooms technology tools cover most of the teacher and principally students needs, because for teachers it is easier to prepare the plan activities taking into account that he or she could use a device that catch their students attention and at the same time it motivates them to participate,to interact in class, etc in which students learn in an easy an funny way.
Technology tools can be used to help students to learn easily and motivate them to be involve in the society, also students do not aolly learn other language through computers also they learn how to use those tools and it is going to be useful for them. Technology have many advantages as I mentioned before but also it has disadvantages, one of them could be that in education may be in any moment in the future teachers could be replace by computers, and students also could study in their homes guided by a radio or another tool. Technology also could affect communication among people, many different jobs, etc. It is important that we give to all of those tols the correct use in which anyone could be affected.

What is teaching English as a second language like today?

Teaching English as a secong language nowadays has positive and negative aspects that we as teachers have to take into account in the classrooms. First of all it is important to say that in our country and in many other countries English is necessary in different fields like in businesses, job, etc. It has been one of the most important requirements to get a job too.
A positive aspect to learn a second language could be that it is a necessary tool to succed and also to get a lot of job opportunities that help people to find a better lifestyle. A negative aspect could be that teachers in many classrooms do not have the student`s interest to learn a second language, I think that is the major problem that we as teachers face in our classrooms.

AUTHENTIC MATERIALS VRS NON AUTHENTIC MATERIALS

I’ am going to talk about two contrast topics.
First of all I’m going to mention something important about authentic materials.
Authentic Materials are those which were not created or edited expressly for language learners. This definition means that most everyday objects in the target language qualify as authentic materials.
The use of authentic materials in the classroom is a benefit for the students understanding and learning, it is the best way that the teachers use to increase the motivation using positive ideas to achieve the goal in the language. When the teachers use effectively, authentic materials help bring the real world into the classroom and significantly enliven the ESL Class.
Second I’m going to talk about non authentic materials. The Non Authentic Materials are those that help students to learn but in a difficult and tired way. It means that the teacher has to find different ways to teach to involve and maintain students in the classroom; it is because students lost the motivation to see always the same materials to study, they see the class boring and they prefer to do other things. When the teachers have this problem students feel that they do not have a goal to achieve with the language and sometimes abandon the classes.
As a conclusion with these topics is important that we as teachers take into account the differences between them and try to be better using and doing new things to teach and increase the students learning in the classrooms.

By Deykelin Vargas. V.

Nowadays, we have a paradigm of worldwide tourist development, not only in our country also around the world.
The tourism worldwide is an opportunity to visit many different countries that help us to know their cultures, their attraction to visitors in their geographical natural beauty which seem no everlasting resources; also some interesting destinations that people enjoy when decide to travel.
These sorts of destinations which seem to have a higher level of conservation are also vulnerable; they require an appropriate action plan for their preservation and management.
The interest of these people is to preserve their cultural elements, among them the main characteristic that supports a sustainable socio-economic development.
Some important countries such us United States, Japan, Brazil, Argentina, etc have the opportunity to offer different beautiful places or sculptures that permit tourist enjoy and come back to visit it again.
It is important take into account that people of each country around the world have to value the differences or characteristics that each country has because it help us to increase as persons and also we can travel to compare cultures, ways to live, etc.
